Rail Explorers RI

Rail Explorers are still pretty new to Rhode Island and we are so happy to have them! Since they are new, we’ll explain all the basics. A rail explorer is a pedal-powered vehicle that rides on railroad tracks. There is no need to steer or keep your hands on the wheel. Just pedal along and enjoy the ride! Rail Explorers offers four tours – The Northern Ramble, The Southern Circuit, Sunday Brunch, and Fireside Tours.

The Northern Ramble is a six-mile ride along the Narragansett Bay with views only visible from the railroad’s unique perspective. You will pass by private waterfront estates, two golf courses, the Newport Preservation Society Topiary Gardens, and the Audobon Society Nature Preserve.

The Southern Circuit is a six-mile roundtrip that starts at the Portsmouth Grove Station and runs south to Bayside Station, their exclusive waterfront picnic area. You’ll enjoy incredible views of the Narragansett Bay.

The Sunday Brunch ride is the South Circuit route, but with mimosas and bloody marys. Fireside Tours also take you along the South Circuit route, but this tour is at night. You’ll be led by lanterns and enjoy a bonfire and s’mores.

Visit their website for more details and pricing information.

Island Style Parasail

Get out and adventure with dad! Island Style Parasail will give you a birdseye view of Newport. You’ll float over the sea behind 600-1,000 feet of line. Island Style Parasail has a perfect safety record, giving you (and dad) the confidence you need to enjoy the views.

Tickets prices vary and more information can be found here.

Island Style Parasail is located at 9 Bowens Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island.
