We will be featuring one local, Rhode Island eatery each week. We will share each eatery’s background and a little bit about the owners and operators. Most importantly, we will be sharing a link to purchase their gift cards. If you are able to support local eateries at this time, we encourage you to purchase their gift cards online and/or order takeout.

This is a very difficult time for the restaurant industry and we are seeing many of our restaurant partners and friends struggle to keep their businesses. By featuring one local eatery each week, we hope to support and uplift some of our partners and friends. No matter where you live, local eateries bring so much life and light to our communities.

Welcome to The Nitro Bar!

Neighborhoods: Providence and Newport

What started as a small project in a cluttered basement quickly evolved into a state-wide craze. With a coffee cart hand-made from scrap wood, co-founders Audrey and Sam started hitting the streets with their cart and serving up nitro cold brew coffee on the East Side of Providence. The demand for The Nitro Cart erupted and evolved to incorporate The Nitro Bar. Their Providence shop is located in Dash Bicycle on Broadway. Last year, they opened a second brick-and-mortar in Newport.

Their nitro coffee is locally sourced, locally brewed and locally poured. Their menus have expanded to include lots of locally sourced food, including their earth shattering avocado toast!

What is nitro coffee? Think Guinness for your coffee. The Nitro Bar sources their coffee beans from a local Rhode Island roaster, slowly and lovingly brew it cold, and then pour it into their nitro tap system. The result is the smoothest, creamiest cold brew coffee you’ve ever had. With natural cocoa undertones and a clean finish, no milk required.

Support The Nitro Bar by buying their gift cards or order contactless takeout online. Their Providence and Newport locations are open for contactless takeout.

Here are two items from the The Nitro Bar food and drink menu we love:

Avo Toast
avocado mashed with lime, salt & pepper, topped with pickled shallots and sunflower seeds, served on sourdough

The Chocolate Bar
nitro + milk + chocolate + shavings
