Finding Neverland Providence Performing Arts Center

This family-friendly show will get you in the holiday spirit. NPR called it “far and away the best musical of the year!” The whole family will have fun with Peter Pan and the gang. The show’s spirit of joy and adventure is the perfect opener to the holiday season.

Holiday Gift Wrap Like a Pro Hope Artiste Village Sunday, December 3 at 7 pm and Sundays, December 10 and 17 at 6 pm
Wrapping all the gifts may just be the most stressful part of the holidays. This class will teach you how to wrap up those gifts stress-free and quickly. The workshop is $15 per person.

Providence Flea Holiday Markets Sundays December 3 and 10, Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17 10 am – 4 pm
Rhode Island has a ton of great artisans, makers, and creators. Some of them will be showing off at the upcoming PVD Flea Holiday Markets. The Flea stays warm indoors at Hope High School in Providence. But being inside doesn’t cramp their style. Vendors set up inside with festive displays and lots of inventory to browse. Fan-favorite food trucks even park outside to serve up hot coffee, a hot lunch, and lots of treats.
Shopping locally is one of the best ways to make a direct, positive impact. We won’t go on about the positive impact shopping locally makes… we’ll just expect to see you getting your holiday shopping on at the Providence Flea Holiday Markets!

Holiday Open House Aldrich Mansion Tuesday, December 5 at 6 pm – 8 pm
Aldrich Mansion is kicking off the holiday season with a free open house. Roam the gorgeous, historical mansion while sipping hot cocoa and snacking on Christmas cookies. The mansion will debut their holiday decorations just in time for this event.
Throughout the month, Aldrich Mansion is holding several Christmas-centric events. Their Christmas Lunches on December 6, 13 and 20 are always very popular. Breakfast with Santa is on December 10 and includes breakfast and photo opportunities. There is a Christmas Concert in the Aldrich Chapel on December 17 with dessert following at the Mansion. Pajama Party Nick’s on Broadway Thursday, December 7 at 9 pm – 12 am
Nick’s on Broadway is known for their brunch and they know a thing or two about having some fun. Their breakfast-for-dinner pajama party is going to be AWESOME!
Their full brunch menu (which is amazing, by the way) will be available, as well as a full lineup of breakfast cocktails. Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and Adult Coffee Milk will be on the menu. Personally, we’re looking forward to trying the Adult Coffee Milk!
Nick’s will be screening The Breakfast Club for all to enjoy while chowing down. Pajamas, breakfast-for-dinner, cocktails, and a movie… What could be better!?
Be sure to wear your best PJs, because there will be a prize for the best pajamas. Also, be prepared for a few surprises along the way…

Grand Opening and Tree Lighting Celebration Newport Skating Center Friday, December 8 at 5 pm – 9 pm
This annual event comes complete with carolers, hot cocoa, and a visit from Santa. Strap on your skates, it’s going to be a fun time!
The outdoor rink is large enough to accommodate 100 skaters at a time. If you don’t have your own pair of skates – no worries – skate rentals are available. Also available is free parking, hot drinks, comfort food and lighting for nighttime skating.
There will be different events throughout the season at Newport Skating Center. Look forward to Skating with Santa, Superhero Day, Newport WinterFest and free and discounted skate nights.

Sea Glass Jewelry and Ornaments Audubon Environmental Education Center Saturday, December 9 at 11 am and 2 pm
Rhode Island beaches are known for their sea glass. If you have a piece you’ve been saving for something (or someone!) special, this would be the perfect time to use it. If you don’t have your own sea glass, there will be plenty of local pieces to use and create with.
Learn how to choose the right piece of sea glass and how to transform it into the perfect gift. You will learn easy and quick wire wrapping techniques. Whether you create a pendant or ornament, you’ll have created something completely unique.
There is a program fee of $35 for non-members and $30 for members. The program fee includes all necessary materials.

Dig out your ugly Christmas sweater for this Providence pub crawl! The festivities begin at The Malted Barley in Downcity and will “crawl” to other bars.
If you can’t make it to their pub crawl, The Malted Barley is a good time year round. It’s also great for large parties! After all, who doesn’t love good beer and salty pretzels?

In The Nick of Time The Coffee Depot Sunday, December 10 at 4 pm – 7 pm
Coffee, baked goods, local artists, and craftspeople… it’s a great time to get your holiday shopping done in this! The Coffee Depot in Warren hosts this annual event and this year is sure to be as busy and fun as ever. There will be over 20 artisans selling their wares while you peruse and sip a seasonal latte.
If you haven’t had your fill of shopping, Warren is home to tons of great shops. Most of which are within walking distance from The Coffee Depot! We would suggest DISH Boutique and Muse on Water Street, In Your Ear Records right on Main Street, and Cerulean on Child Street. Part 1 is all about Holiday Cocktail Appetizers. Learn four new, simple appetizers that will blow your guests’ socks off. Part 2 is the hands-on portion led by Executive Chef Ashley Vanasse and her mother Donna. Ashley and Donna are sharing their holiday tradition – baking Christmas Eve cookies! They will demonstrate three or four traditional Italian cookie recipes before everyone will break off into groups to bake their own.

Art After Dark Newport Art Museum Thursday, December 14 at 5 pm
Newport Art Museum hosts Art After Dark the second Thursday of every month. Take a gander at what’s new without breaking the bank! Admission is free for members and there is a suggested $10 donation for non-members.
December’s Art After Dark features the Faculty & Student Holiday Art Sale. Browse work from local artists while being serenaded by the Golden Bantam String Band. The Museum’s artist instructors and students are sharing their handmade pieces. It’s another wonderful way to shop local this holiday season!

Holiday Gala OceanCliff Friday, December 15 at 7 pm – 11 pm
