Part of our planning our food tours was making sure all of the food bases were covered. When it came time to choose our fine dining locations, the Vanderbilt Grace in Newport and Gracie’s in Providence were no-brainers.

The Vanderbilt Grace Newport Neighborhood Food Tour
The Vanderbilt Grace is a gorgeous luxury boutique hotel in Newport. It’s a 1909 vintage mansion just minutes away from the Newport waterfront and tucked into a neighborhood rich in history and colonial architecture. Once a private home to the famous Vanderbilt family, it has been fully and elegantly renovated. Today, it has 33 rooms and luxury suites. It features many amenities, including a lavish spa, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, and a signature restaurant – the Vanderbilt Grille.
The Vanderbilt Grille serves up beautifully-plated dishes. The revolving menu includes contemporary and classic dishes. All ingredients are seasonally and locally sourced to serve up the best New England-inspired dishes. The Vanderbilt Grille is open to guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After you fill up at the Vanderbilt Grille, enjoy the stunning view from their Rooftop Deck or relax in their Garden Terrace. Both spots are perfect for after-dinner, celebratory drinks. Their drink menu includes classic cocktails and seasonal offerings.

Every Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 the Vanderbilt Grace offers what is considered widely to be the best afternoon English Tea in Rhode Island.
Sit in the elegant Conservatory, where you will choose from a selection of the finest teas while enjoying delicate finger sandwiches, warm crumpets and scones topped with fresh double cream and zingy lemon curd. Their specialty is the Grace tea blend, a sophisticated fusion of green tea, pear and lemongrass, inspired by their popular Grace cocktail.

The Vanderbilt Grace is located at 41 Mary Street in Newport, Rhode Island. Breakfast is served 7:30 am – 11 am, Monday through Friday. Lunch is served 12 pm – 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Dinner service ends at 6 pm, running later on the weekends. Dinner service is not available on Mondays or Tuesdays. There is Fireside Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, 11 am – 3 pm.
