Live Bait: True Stories from Real People
Friday, March 1 from 7 pm – 8:30 pm

Do you have a “yummy” story to tell? March’s Live Bait theme calls for “yummy” true stories. If you have a true story to tell that fits this month’s “yummy” theme, put your name into the fishbowl and when called, share your tantalizing tale. There is a six-minute time limit, so make it snappy. If you don’t have a tale to weave, you can sit back and listen. You can learn more about Live Bait: True Stories from Real People here.

Cheese Making Demo

Saturday, March 2 from 2 pm – 4 pm

Cheese is one of our favorite food groups, hands down. Learn how to turn milk into cheese and taste recipes from professional chefs Malinda Coletta and Phillip Griffin, owners of Professor Chef.  Their Cheese Making Demo is free and open to all ages. Whiskey Tasting and Cocktail Making!
Sunday, March 3 from 5 pm – 7 pm

Calling all whiskey fans (and soon-to-be fans)! Peter Choy of Western Spirits is leading a whiskey tour with Bird Dog Whiskey and Calmut Bourbon. Learn about the companies and their journies to success. Taste of variety of samples and watch as Peter demos specialty cocktails made with their whiskey and bourbon. After the demo, you’ll be able to sample three of the specialty whiskey cocktails. Just in case you get hungry in the middle of the demo, sweet and savory treats will be available.

Cat videos rule the Internet. CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos from animation, music videos, the Internet and beyond. Ripka is popping up at Bywater in Warren. Bywater is taking the night off from its seafood-focus to welcome Ripka, an Eastern European and Jewish-inspired food startup based in Providence. Jamaican Patties

Wednesday, March 13 from 3 pm – 10 pm

JA Patty RI is bringing their freshly baked Jamaican Patties to Long Live Beerworks. Their patties are handmade with natural ingredients and authentic Jamaican spices. Their signature pastry dough is stuffed and then baked until golden brown. Fillings include traditional beef, jerk chicken, callaloo, and dumpling. Each patty comes with a dipping sauce pairing. It’s a great opportunity to try something new and the perfect excuse to spend an afternoon at the brewery.

What’s Up Newp’s 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

We can’t believe it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day! Celebrate with What’s Up Newp and friends at Midtown Oyster Bar on the eve of Newport’s famous Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. Midtown will be serving up Irish fare for the night and Ragged Island Brewing Company is launching their new 5th Ward Dry Irish Stout.

Global Eats: An International Culinary Celebration!

Last year’s Global Eats was a smashing success. Back for a second year, Global Eats is a culinary fundraiser for the Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island. New England’s best chefs are cooking up incredible global dishes. The chef lineup is quickly growing, but current chefs include Cesin Curin from Los Andes, Noah Metnick of Waterman Grille and Jake Rojas from Tallulah’s Taqueria.

Spanish Tapas Night with Chef Pam Farmer
Sunday, March 31 from 6 pm – 9 pm

Take your taste buds to Spain from the comfort of Gracie’s dining room. Chef Pam Farmer is a longtime friend of Gracie’s and frequent host of very popular “paella parties.” Pam and Gracie’s Executive Chef Matt Varga will prepare a three-course dinner inspired by Pam’s travels throughout Spain. The menu will include a standing tapas bar, Pam’s famous paella, and her signature sangria. The evening will be topped off with warm churros (our favorite!) served with chocolate sauce and other Spanish favorites.
