Bumper Cars on Ice
The Providence Rink, Alex and Ani City Center
Variety of times and rides every day

Celebrate your love on the rink! Bumper Cars on Ice is a unique and super fun addition to Providence. Try it out before the warm weather comes. It makes a great date night or a fun outing with the family. Bumper Cars on Ice is incredibly popular, so make your reservations ASAP!

Tickets are $12 for 20 minutes. Bumper Cars on Ice are available Monday through Friday, 4 pm – 8 pm and Wednesday through Sunday nights from 10 pm – midnight. Reservations are also available Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am – 1 pm.

Alex and Ani City Center is located at 2 Kennedy Plaza in Providence, Rhode Island.

ChARTcuterie Workshop
Newport Art Museum, Coleman Center Gallery
Friday, February 9 at 5 pm – 8 pm

There is an art to a great charcuterie plate. Amelia Wilson, the manager of Grapes & Gourmet, leads this workshop that will teach you the basics of preparing elaborate cheese and charcuterie plates. Take this course and surprise your special someone with a personalized plate! You will learn how to make an aesthetically pleasing, balanced, and personalized platter. You’ll head home with a customized platter for sharing.

Mastering Homemade Pasta

Saturday, February 10 at 4 pm – 8 pm

Our mouths are watering just thinking about this hands-on class and dinner. You will master making and eating homemade pasta. Yum! Start off by observing the art and progress to making your own homemade pasta. You will end the evening with a family-style tasting of cheese ravioli and the chef’s signature marina sauce. Enjoy a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert!

This three-course chocolate celebration will showcase the talents of Gracie’s Executive Pastry Chef Melissa Denmark, Ellie’s Bakery Lead Pastry Chef Caitlyn McGuire, and Knead Doughnuts Head Baker Weatherly Hundley.

The evening begins with savory hors d’œuvres and cocktails. Enjoy a seated dessert tasting and signature paired cocktails.

Eli’s Kitchen’s Fat Tuesday celebration is something we look forward to every year. They always bring back to Warren a little bit of New Orleans flavor from their yearly visits. Chow down on their Fat Tuesday specials and enjoy live music.

President’s Distinguished Speaker Series: “Me Too” Activist Tarana Burke
Roger Williams University, Campus Recreation Center Gym

Tuesday, February 13 at 7:30 pm

Meet the inspiring woman behind the #MeToo movement. Tarana Burke has shared her life story with the world to empower and uplift. Long before #MeToo went viral, Tarana used the phrase to let survivors of sexual assault and harassment know they weren’t alone. Tarana is a social justice activist and senior director of programs at Girls for Gender Equity, an organization that empowers survivors to speak out. Bring your friends and family to share in this empowering event.

This event is free and open to the public.

Newport Winter Festival
Thursday, February 15 – Saturday, February 25

The 30th Annual Newport Winter Festival is 10 days of music, food, and fun. Events take place throughout Newport and Newport County. Featured events include ice sculpting demonstrations, a chili cook-off, beach polo, and a comedy show. More events are being added daily, so check here for updates.

Beer Launch Party
The Malted Barley

The Malted Barley is now brewing their own beer! Our Downcity Providence Food Tour partner is celebrating the big release with a big party. The first beer from The Malted Barley Brewing Co.’s ALL IN series is a Belgian Wit Ale, brewed with pineapple and spices.

13th Annual Illuminated Garden
Ballard Park in Newport, RI

Stroll through Ballard Park and enjoy the thousands of lights displayed throughout the park. The three-acre quarry meadow is decked out in different lights. It makes the most beautiful sight! This is a free and family-friendly event.

Beer and Bacon Cooking Class
Bristol Oyster Bar

Monday, February 26 at 6 pm

Beer and Bacon at Bristol Oyster Bar! Chef David Snow will be leading the class and will share the art of making bacon. In the class, you will make several flavors of bacon and pair them with beer from Foolproof Brewing. You probably know how to cook bacon, but you will leave this hands-on class knowing how to make your own bacon.
