Mount Hope Farm

What Cheer, Shakespeare? and The Rhode Island Shakespeare Theater return to Mount Hope Farm with a performance of Twelfth Night. Both theater companies are known for bringing Shakespearean classics to life using modern costumes, simple scenery, and topical references. It’s an audience favorite and family-friendly show.

Twelfth Night tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance here.

Super Art Sunday: Repair It! at the RISD Museum explores how repairing art happens through science, imagination, live demonstrations, and interactive activities. Whether you’re just curious, love anything art or have a piece you’d like to restore, Super Art Sunday is a fun and educational event.

The PVD Flea is back in January! We love browsing the different weekly vendors and getting a coffee or lunch at the food trucks. The flea is popping up in the cafeteria at Hope High School til its triumphant return in the summer.

7th Annual Spectacular Cookie Smackdown
RI Convention Center
Sunday, January 13 from 1 pm – 4 pm

Rhode Island’s bakers are competing for the title of Very Best Cookie in Rhode Island. Personally, we’re competing for who can eat the most cookies. The Spectacular Cookie Smackdown moved to an even bigger vendor this year and always sells out, so get your tickets soon!

Tickets are $20 and include all the cookies you can eat and all the Yacht Club Soda, New Harvest Coffee, and milk you can drink. Purchase your tickets here.

Providence Winter Restaurant Week

It’s baaack – Providence Restaurant Week returns this month and our taste buds are ready. Nearly 100 local restaurants are participating. Three-course lunches start are $16.95 and three-course dinners start at $29.95. Some restaurants are offering two-for-one specials.

Our Downcity Providence Food Tour partners Gracie’s and Oberlin are participating in Providence Winter Restaurant Week with dinner specials. Check them out for a real dinner treat.

Meet Your New Best Friend Special Adoption Event
Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA)
Saturday, January 19 at 10 am

New Year, new best friend! The RISPCA is holding special adoption events throughout the year and their first is in January. Meet and greet their available dogs, cats, and other furry friends. They will be sharing featured adoptable animals closer to the event.

Taste of the East Bay 2019
Hope & Main
Saturday, January 26 from 5 pm – 8 pm

Local chefs, purveyors, and restaurants will be showing off their goods at the Taste of the East Bay. Sip and savor the best local artisanal food and drinks during this intimate event benefiting the RISPCA. Vendors will be announced closer to the event, but our mouths are already watering.
